Introduction to Sensorial

The Sensorial area, has to do with the education/ training of the senses. Maria Montessori explained the purpose of the education of the senses very well: “When we educate the senses we are not trying to make the child see better, we are helping the child to know what the eye sees”. Children between the age of 3 and 6 years old have the energy and effort to benefit from their environment. The sensorial materials allow for this development to take place in an appropriate sequential manner.
